MATRIX LAW SOLICITORS

COOKIE POLICY

Version 2.0   ·  Last updated 01/09/2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Matrix Law Solicitors (“we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, www.matrixlawsolicitors.co.uk. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1.  What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site recognise your device and remember information about your visit, such as your preferences and settings. In this policy, “cookies” also covers similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage where they are used for similar purposes.

Cookies may be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by another organisation whose services appear on our site). They may last only for your visit (“session” cookies) or remain until they expire or you delete them (“persistent” cookies).

2.  How we ask for your consent

Strictly necessary cookies are required for the website to work and are set automatically. We use all other cookies and similar technologies — including analytics and advertising technologies — only where you have given the relevant consent, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR.

When you first visit our website, you are shown a cookie banner that lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies and similar technologies. Analytics and advertising technologies remain inactive unless and until you give the relevant consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the banner, which you can reopen from the link in our website footer; withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and does not affect anything done before you withdrew it. Deleting cookies through your browser is not the same as withdrawing consent — it removes stored cookies (which may include the record of your choice) but does not, by itself, stop consent-dependent scripts running in your current session.

A note on our consent tool. Where we use cookies and similar technologies for distinct purposes, you should be able to accept or reject them by purpose rather than all-or-nothing.

3.  The cookies we use

3.1  Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the site to function and to remember your cookie choice. They are set automatically and do not require consent.

3.2  Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand how our website is used so that we can improve it. We activate Plausible only after you have consented to analytics through our cookie banner. You can withdraw that consent at any time using the cookie preferences link in our website footer, after which we stop further analytics collection through Plausible.

Plausible is designed to be privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. It does use information such as your IP address and browser type to generate a daily visitor count, but states that it does not store these raw values or build profiles of visitors.

3.3  Advertising and targeting cookies

Not currently active. We plan to use advertising tools to measure our marketing and show relevant ads. These cookies are set only where you have consented. They are provided by third parties who may use them to build a profile of your interests and show you ads on other sites; each has its own privacy and cookie policy. When these tools are live, the cookies are expected to include:

Before we switch on any advertising pixels, we will update this Cookie Policy and our Privacy Policy together to describe the data collected, the advertising purposes, the recipients, any overseas transfers and your choices, and we will obtain consent for those specific purposes rather than relying on any earlier consent. We will also check that the pixels do not capture information from sensitive pages — such as our immigration, family, enquiry or confirmation pages — or from form fields.

If you decide not to run advertising pixels, delete this section 3.3 — and make sure the cookie banner no longer refers to “tailored ads”.

3.4  Embedded content and maps

Some pages may include embedded content, such as a Google Map on our contact page or social-media content. These third parties may set their own cookies or read information from your device when the content loads — what matters is what an embed stores on or reads from your device, not simply that it appears on the page.

4.  How to manage cookies

The reliable way to give or withdraw consent is through our cookie banner, which you can reopen from the link in our website footer. You can also control cookies through your browser settings as a supplementary option — most browsers let you block, delete or restrict cookies:

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the website working properly. Your choices are usually specific to the device and browser you are using, so you may need to set them again on each one.

Where we use advertising cookies, you can also opt out through the providers directly — for example via Google Ads settings and Meta ad preferences.

5.  Third-party tools and more information

Some cookies and technologies are provided by third parties who operate under their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review:

  • Webador — our website platform and hosting provider.
  • Plausible Analytics — our cookieless website analytics.
  • Google (Google Ads, and Google Maps if embedded).
  • Meta (Facebook / Instagram advertising).

6.  Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, the tools we use, or legal requirements. Any updates will be published on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
